The Longdong–Shandong Power Transmission Project, a major initiative under the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-Quality Development Plan, is China’s first integrated "wind–solar–thermal–storage" power transmission corridor. It officially commenced operation on May 8. Stretching 915 kilometers, this "green electricity superhighway" delivers 36 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually from Gansu Province to Shandong Province. More than half of this energy comes from renewable sources, supplying enough power to meet the yearly electricity demands of 10 million households in Shandong.
With the rapid development of new power systems, renewable energy generation accounts for a growing share of the power supply. However, the output of renewable energy systems depends heavily on weather and temperature conditions, making the power supply less controllable. Issues such as voltage dips and reactive power compensation require urgent solutions. To maintain stable voltage at grid connection points, the system must dynamically regulate reactive power output.
FGI Solution
Our solution configures appropriate SVG compensation capacity based on the station’s installed capacity and grid requirements. It collects real-time operational data, continuously assesses power quality status, and delivers dynamic and rapid compensation. This approach significantly improves the power factor on site, stabilizes grid voltage, and ensures compliance with power quality standards.
We adopt a modular design for the entire unit, which simplifies installation and commissioning and substantially shortens the debugging cycle. The system incorporates layered fault alerts and redundant design for key components. This design enables continuous operation even under fault conditions, enhancing equipment availability.
Solution Advantages
Compact Footprint, High Power Density: Through continuous iteration, we have optimized the spatial layout, further reducing product dimensions to industry-leading levels.
Superior High/Low Voltage Ride-Through Capability: The system excels in high and low voltage ride-through control, outperforming national standards and ensuring stable operation.
Multiple Operation Modes Adapt to Various Working Conditions: The system compensates for power factor and reactive power, stabilizes grid voltage, and fully meets the diverse demands of photovoltaic power stations.
FGI equipment now supports multiple renewable energy stations associated with the Longdong–Shandong Project, providing stable reinforcement for this national key initiative.
