On March 10th, the 2026 Jinan International Bio-Fermentation Exhibition hosted the "Bio-Manufacturing Low-Carbon and Energy-Saving Technology and Equipment Innovation Forum." FGI was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech at the forum, showcasing its innovative technologies and system solutions in the field of bio-manufacturing, which attracted widespread attention.
At the forum, FGI presented a report titled "Variable Frequency Intelligent Control + Power Optimization: The Core Path to Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction in Bio-Fermentation," providing an in-depth analysis of the key challenges currently facing the synthetic bio-manufacturing industry, such as high power consumption, significant impact from power grid fluctuations, and high requirements for equipment operational stability. FGI also detailed its solutions covering the four major links of "power grid—raw materials—production—emergency response," helping the industry achieve a green, intelligent, and efficient transformation.
Grid: Comprehensive "Reliability" Solution
1. FGI Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Anti-Power Fluctuation:FGI VFDs offer strong adaptability to power grid fluctuations, uninterrupted operation even during prolonged brief stops, and provide diverse anti-power fluctuation solutions. They ensure that operating motor groups are not subject to unplanned shutdowns due to power fluctuations during momentary faults in the external or internal power grids.
2. FGI High-Voltage SVG Centralized Management:Addressing the power quality issues of the biomanufacturing industry, such as numerous loads, large power grid voltage fluctuations, and low power factor, FGI high-voltage SVGs offer advantages such as millisecond-level response, comprehensive compensation functions, and diverse operating modes. They can comprehensively manage power quality across the entire line, effectively reducing circuit losses, improving the power factor, compensating for reactive power, and controlling harmonics. Simultaneously, they rapidly stabilize the power grid voltage and dynamically meet system compensation requirements.
Raw materials: Integrated conveyor system drive solution
The integrated motor frequency converter is a perfect combination of frequency converter and motor, covering voltage levels from 380V to 10kV and power ranges from 4 to 4500kW. It features excellent master-slave operation, enabling power balance across multiple units; its high-protection structure design makes it suitable for outdoor use. The indoor solution utilizes a multi-unit master-slave control scheme with precise motor parameter self-learning to achieve effective control of a group of motors. Employing fiber optic control technology, the master and slave units can be interchanged at any time, offering flexible and diverse control methods. It also features frequency converter hot standby technology, greatly improving system reliability and continuity.
Production: System "Energy Saving" Solution
High, medium, and low-voltage frequency converters utilize power-to-frequency conversion technology to enable online switching of AC motor power supply between the frequency converter and the mains frequency power supply. During switching, uninterrupted motor power supply is ensured, and inrush current does not exceed the motor's rated current. Through "frequency-locked and phase-locked" control technology, a smooth and shock-free switching between mains frequency and frequency conversion is achieved. The switching process has no impact on the motor or the power grid, making it suitable for applications involving multiple motors connected to a single motor and soft-starting of large motors.
FGI's diversified solutions received widespread attention and high recognition from participating experts and company representatives. Attendees believed that the solutions possess strong innovation and practicality, providing a valuable case study for the green transformation of the biomanufacturing industry. In the future, FGI will continue to deepen its involvement in the biomanufacturing field, working together to promote the industry towards a greener, smarter, and more efficient path to sustainable development.
