Background of the largest single photovoltaic project

Recently, the first batch of units of the EPC general contracting project of the 3 million kilowatt photovoltaic base in Zhongwei, Ningxia, the largest single photovoltaic base project in China, has been connected to the grid and started generating electricity. This will inject strong impetus into the supply of clean energy in the northwest region and transform the desert wasteland into a "green power heart".

The Zhongwei project is a key construction project of Ningxia Autonomous Region in 2025 and one of the core projects of the "Sand, Gobi and Desert" large-scale clean energy bases in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of the country. It is also a model project of the new energy transmission base. The successful operation of the project not only provides a solid energy guarantee for the sustainable development of the local economy and society, but also injects new vitality into the energy structure adjustment, industrial structure transformation and upgrading, and ecological environment improvement in the Ningxia region.

After the full capacity grid connection, the project will generate a cumulative annual power of 5.78 billion kilowatt-hours, reducing 4.66 million tons of carbon dioxide, 33,900 tons of sulfur dioxide and 50,000 tons of nitrogen oxides annually.
