Application of FGI SVG in off-grid optical storage projects in Africa

1.Overview

At present, 96.5% of Chad's energy consumption is wood fuel (wood and charcoal), while electricity accounts for only about 0.5% of the country's energy consumption. Only about 3.9% of Chad's population has access to electricity, and 80% of electricity consumption is in the capital N 'Djamena, which meets about a third of the city's electricity needs.At present, about 20% of the people in the capital region use diesel engines or off-grid photovoltaic systems to generate electricity, but because there is no scale effect, the cost is high, which is not affordable for ordinary families.According to field understanding, villagers with independent off-grid photovoltaic power generation systems basically have a stable source of income, about 300 to 400 US dollars per month. Therefore, people in off-grid areas are very much looking forward to the construction of stable and more systematic off-grid photovoltaic power generation systems, and they are very supportive of the construction of off-grid photovoltaic power generation systems, and are willing to provide priority sites for the construction of projects, and the market prospects are broad.

The off-grid photovoltaic project has the advantages of small investment, quick effect, simple government approval procedures, etc., which is very suitable for the current situation of weak main network in Africa and serious power shortage in most remote areas.

Chad energy storage photovoltaic power plant project is one of the key projects of clean energy cooperation between China and Chad under the "Belt and Road" initiative, the project is close to CNPC Chad Djermaya refinery, the project planned capacity of 300MW, of which the first phase of the construction capacity of 30MW. The project is equipped with 30MW PV, which will further ease the pressure on local electricity consumption and greatly improve the local living and business environment after completion.

2.Implementation plans

The on-site grid-connected voltage is 15kV, and the voltage level is relatively special. According to the user's situation, the company customized development, changed the whole machine structure, modified the control program, designed 15kV direct-hanging products to meet the on-site needs, and enriched the FGI product series. In view of the unstable situation of the local power system, the performance of SVG equipment is improved, the high and low voltage crossing performance of the product is enhanced, and the adaptability of the power grid is improved.

3.Application advantage

(4) FGI SVG has a time-sharing control automatic switching function. It can automatically switch the operation mode according to the time, reduce the operation and maintenance cost and improve the compensation efficiency.
