Recently, FGI SVG equipment was put into operation on a nickel-iron smelting project in Palopo City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. In this project, electric arc furnace is used for steel smelting. In the process of electric arc furnace smelting, it is easy to effectively control the input power, improve the smelting efficiency, accurately control the heating process, and reduce energy waste. Compared with traditional blast furnaces, electric arc furnaces emit less exhaust gas and reduce environmental pollution. Under the trend of promoting the green transformation of the steel industry, the application of electric arc furnace has become a consensus in the industry, to reduce energy consumption and environmental pollution, and improve the quality and competitiveness of steel products.
Electric arc furnace metallurgy has significant advantages, but at the same time there are some power quality problems, such as low power factor, serious harmonic pollution, three-phase imbalance, voltage fluctuations and other problems during operation, it is necessary to carry out power quality control to ensure the safety and stability of the power supply system.
In view of the power quality problems existing on site, FGI configured a comprehensive treatment scheme of SVG+FC for customers, the selection was FGSVG-C25.0/20-O-W-T+18MvarFC, and the load was electric arc furnace, so as to achieve both treatment effect and economy.
Using the advantages of SVG rapid response, stable voltage, improve power factor, and control three-phase imbalance, Indonesia is a 20kV power supply system. In order to adapt to customer conditions, the product is customized and developed, and the structure and control system are modified to achieve the effect of direct connection to 20kV power grid.
The harmonic generated by electric arc furnace is suppressed by FC, the harmonic frequency is detected by SVG, and the corresponding FC switch is controlled to realize automatic control compensation.
The upper computer control system is provided for SVG equipment, which can be controlled and set remotely, and the control and use cost is low.
