At 20:40 on May 16th, the first phase of the 2×200MWh independent shared energy storage project of Shandong Energy New Energy Group in Dongying was successfully connected to the grid in one go, marking the official operation of the first set of China's largest single-unit capacity 100-megawatt-level high-voltage cascade advanced energy storage system. This project is a milestone project for the large-scale development of new energy storage in Shandong Energy Group, injecting strong impetus into the construction of a new power system and the promotion of green energy transformation.
This project adopts the 35kV high-voltage cascading technology and intelligent energy storage system independently developed by FGI Electronics of Shandong Energy New Energy Group. It consists of 4 sets of 25MW/53.6MWh lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage systems. It uses 314Ah cells to adapt to 104 series liquid-cooled battery PACKs, featuring high efficiency and high performance. Through liquid cooling heat dissipation and four-level safety protection design (cell, module, battery cluster, system), it achieves full life cycle safety control. The overall system adopts a 35kV high-voltage cascading scheme, innovatively applying advanced technologies such as AI large model battery health monitoring, providing a technical benchmark for the energy storage demonstration project in Shandong Province.
Energy storage power stations are not only "super power banks" but also "large voltage stabilizers". They can store electricity quickly during off-peak periods and discharge electricity precisely during peak periods, which can enhance the stability of the power system. The total planned capacity of the independent shared energy storage project of Shandong Energy New Energy Group in Dongying is 200MW/400MWh, with the first phase connected to the grid of 100MW/200MWh. The project integrates multiple functions such as peak shaving and valley filling for the power grid, frequency regulation, and efficient consumption of new energy. It can promote the generation of over 70 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity from surrounding new energy stations each year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 70,000 tons, providing a solid support for the large-scale integration of clean energy into the grid.
The 100-megawatt energy storage project in Dongying has been successfully connected to the grid. This is an important practice by Shandong Energy New Energy Group in implementing the "dual carbon" strategy and accelerating the green transformation. In the future, they will fully leverage their advantages in independently developed equipment and system integration to build a "research and development - manufacturing - application" full-chain ecosystem, driving the upgrading of energy storage industry and green transformation of Shandong Energy Group, and providing an innovative model for the large-scale development of new energy storage in Shandong Province.
