1.Project context

The traditional TSC (thyristor switching capacitor) was used for reactive power compensation in the distribution system of rolling workshop of a large iron and steel enterprise. With the expansion of production scale, the proportion of nonlinear loads such as a large number of converters and electric arc furnaces in the workshop increased, resulting in the following problems:

Large power factor fluctuation

The average power factor is only 0.75~0.82, facing the power grid quality assessment.

The voltage flicker is serious

The impact load of rolling mill causes the bus voltage fluctuation of ±10%, which affects the operation of precision equipment.
