From December 3 to 5, 2025, the "Intelligent Drive for Reliability, Resilience Leads the Future—2025 Annual Electrical Control, Power Distribution, and Electrical Drive System Reliability Conference" took place in Nanjing. FGI attended this industry event upon invitation.
The seminar focused on the integrated development needs of transportation and energy. It discussed technical trends such as near-zero-carbon port construction, clean energy applications in ports, and the reliability of electrical systems and equipment. The event also exchanged insights on the operational characteristics, failure modes, and reliability improvement paths of electrical equipment based on typical port application scenarios. This aimed to promote the engineering application of port electrical systems toward greener and higher reliability.
FGI has deep expertise in the power electronics field for many years. The company consistently regards "reliability" as the core of product development and technological innovation. FGI thoroughly understands the complexity and high-intensity nature of port operating environments, along with their stringent requirements for electrical equipment reliability.
At the inverter session, FGI's Market Manager delivered a keynote speech titled "Holistic Solutions for Port Energy Saving and Power Quality Enhancement." The presentation addressed the comprehensive needs of ports across grid-side, power supply-side, hoisting and handling, transportation, and emergency power supply. It systematically introduced five innovative solutions developed by FGI. These solutions aim to provide solid technical support for the sustainable development of ports.
Port Grid Governance – Static Var Generator (SVG)
Ports primarily use high-power electric handling equipment. This equipment often presents power quality issues such as low power factor and high harmonic current content. Grid power can introduce significant harmonics and voltage impacts. FGI's Dynamic Reactive Power Compensation Device (SVG) applies to terminal substations. It utilizes chain-link technology to manage medium and high-voltage grid harmonics. The solution addresses power quality problems including dynamic reactive power compensation, three-phase imbalance mitigation, voltage fluctuations, and flicker. For scenarios with high inrush current during load start-up and low power factor during rated power operation, FGI offers an inverter solution integrated with reactive power compensation.
Port Hoisting and Lifting – High-Performance Inverters
FGI launched an intelligent inverter system for hoisting and lifting transformation in bulk cargo terminals. The system adopts advanced motor control technology. It regulates motor speed and torque to optimize conveyor system performance. This reduces energy consumption, extends motor service life, and improves operational efficiency. The inverter system controls the speed and torque of AC motors. It ensures smoother start-up and acceleration processes, thereby reducing motor shock loads.
FGI's solutions form a synergistic system. This system enhances reliability and enables green transformation across all scenarios of port electrical systems. It fully demonstrates FGI's comprehensive technical capabilities and deep insight in the port electrical system field.
Greening and reliability upgrades for ports represent a long-term mission. FGI firmly believes that advanced power electronics technology, with high reliability at its core, will be a key driver for ports moving toward an intelligent, green, and efficient future. The company will continue to innovate. It will provide customers with more reliable, efficient, and intelligent energy-saving and power quality management solutions. FGI will collaborate with industry chain partners to jointly build a new chapter of high-quality development for ports.
