In the workshop of FGI Unit Group, four assembly lines are always extremely busy yet well-organized. Chen Fei, an assembler, moves between them, ready to solve tricky problems at any time. This assembly technician, who joined the company in 2019, has spent six years sticking to seemingly tedious repetitive work. He has honed excellent skills and become the most reliable technical backbone in everyone's mind.
When he first arrived, there were only two production lines in the group. He started with the first process of the assembly line and learned from his mentor. The monotonous assembly line became a platform for him to polish his craftsmanship. "Gradually, I became more and more proficient in the first process. When I got faster, I started to help with the second, third and subsequent processes," Chen Fei said. It is this spirit of proactive learning and mutual assistance that gradually enabled him to master the entire process operation.
Skill improvement comes from perseverance in repetition and breakthroughs in challenges. Chen Fei has won the company's Advanced Individual Award for three consecutive years. However, he said he has no special advantages but is just more skilled. Behind this proficiency lies precise control over every unit of the product and a comprehensive understanding of every screw model and each set of torque parameters. For this reason, whenever colleagues encounter difficult problems, need to assemble special models, or conduct trial assembly of new models, Chen Fei is always the first person that comes to mind.
The trial assembly of new models developed by the Technology Center often has no mature processes to refer to. Every time a task is assigned, Chen Fei is the team's first choice for cooperation. During the trial assembly, he never passively executes orders. Instead, relying on years of accumulated practical experience, he takes the initiative to put forward professional suggestions on wiring methods, screw selection, torque settings and other aspects. He repeatedly optimizes these with R&D personnel. After sorting out the process smoothly, he disassembles the technical key points immediately to teach other colleagues. Then he reasonably divides the work to help the entire unit group quickly form production capacity and ensure the smooth mass production of new models.
When talking about his current achievements, Chen Fei always mentions the support behind him: "My accumulation today is inseparable from the guidance of leaders and the help of colleagues." If he had to define his team with one word, he would not hesitate to say - unity. This tacit understanding is a precious friendship forged through countless days and nights of fighting side by side, with sweat and perseverance.
With the company's development, the production of five-electric products has become mature, and many products are among the top in the country. Among them, the SVG product, which they assemble in the largest quantity, has won the honor of National Manufacturing Single Item Champion. As an "intelligent regulator" of the power grid, SVG plays a key role in improving power grid stability, enhancing power transmission capacity, suppressing reactive power impact, filtering harmonic interference and balancing three-phase voltage. Its characteristics of fast response speed and high control precision put forward extremely high requirements for the assembly process of internal components, wiring reliability and overall consistency of the product.
"I am very excited every time I participate in the trial assembly of new products. I am particularly proud that I have contributed to the company's products," Chen Fei admitted. In his eyes, what he assembles is not only a piece of equipment, but also an important device to ensure the stable operation of the power grid and improve power quality. Whether each connection is firm, whether the torque of each screw is accurate, and whether each section of wiring is reasonable are directly related to whether the SVG can operate stably for a long time on site, respond to power grid changes in milliseconds, and realize reactive power compensation and harmonic treatment.
"Times change, but the principle of working steadily remains unchanged." Chen Fei has always believed that true "steadiness" is reflected in the pursuit of excellence in every process, in collaborative work with the team, and in resonance with the company's development. With the upgrading of the power grid and the large-scale integration of new energy, the market demand for SVG continues to grow. Only by continuously optimizing processes and improving quality can we help the company maintain a leading position in the power electronics field. From an ordinary assembler to a core technician participating in building national champion products, Chen Fei uses his hands to interpret the value of the craftsman spirit in the era of intelligent manufacturing.
