The increase in the installed capacity of new energy has brought about many systemic changes, but also some power quality problems, such as voltage fluctuations caused by the randomness and volatility of new energy, and in some cases there will be low power factor problems, in order to solve these problems, reactive power compensation devices need to be installed at the station.
1. Project background
The types of reactive power compensation devices include FC, SVC, SVG and other products. Some stations built earlier install FC and SVC equipment for reactive power compensation. With the development of technology, SVG has more and more applications. In terms of performance, SVG has advantages such as fast response time, high product integration, small footprint and so on. So many stations have been replaced with SVG.
A power station in Erenhot was put into operation in 2011, using SVC compensation equipment. Due to the old and slow response speed of the equipment, it cannot meet the requirements of power system adjustment rate and control accuracy, and there is no function of high and low voltage crossing, so it needs to be replaced by SVG as a whole.
2.FGI scheme
